Steven Thompson is the Senior Vice President, Chief Business Development Officer at Brigham & Women’s Healthcare in Boston. Previously, Steven Thompson served as the founding CEO of Johns Hopkins International, which strives to establish working relationships with medical centers, health ministries and investors around the world to improve quality, safety and access to advanced medical care for many populations. Under his leadership, Johns Hopkins International has developed collaborations and implemented projects with incredible depth and breadth across some 20 countries. He is a pioneer in the fields of global collaborative health care and international patient care and is a recognized authority on topics including: how health care institutions can collaborate internationally on both infrastructure and clinical delivery, improving the quality and safety of patient care through international collaboration, public-private support of large health care projects, the role of clinical research in global health care and preventative medicine’s role in reducing global health care costs. Before Johns Hopkins International was established, Thompson served in a number of leadership roles at Johns Hopkins Medicine, including vice president of Ambulatory Services, vice dean of Administration for the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and administrator for the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine. He earned his MBA at Loyola University and received his BS at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis
